Few places are surrounded by a mystery like Rold Forest that is located in a rural part of Denmark. The forest was for centuries a gathering point for robbers, witches and originals. Myths and stories have here been passed down through generations.
Today the connection is still strong between the nature and the few people living in Rold Forest. But the forest has slowly been controlled more and more by the society like the rest of Denmark. Denmark is the country in Europe with the least amount of wild nature according to a report published by the European Commission.
Almost every spot of the small country is filled with cities or fields while timber production characterize the forests. This story is a journey into the deepest of Rold Forest exploring the value of the last wild nature and a investigation of the industrial and spiritual use of Rold Forest today.
